What Our Volunteers Say

Volunteers are Priceless

Volunteers extend our capacity to serve. They do so joyfully, exhibiting enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to their responsibilities. Whether sorting clothes at the Crisis Center Thrift Store or considering policy changes at the Board level, every volunteer’s contribution is received with gratitude.

Because the Crisis Center provides services to over 850 victims and children each year, we always need volunteers! Each year we are blessed with over 12,000 donated hours in a variety of job roles.

  • You help educate the public and raise safety awareness.
  • You can learn a new skill or train for a unique opportunity.
  • You may receive credit for school.
  • You could add your community service to your resume.
  • You will make new friends.
  • Your opinion will be sought and thoughtfully considered.
  • You receive recognition for your service.
  • You strengthen our communities by contributing your best to a great effort.

Responsibilities of Volunteers

  • Learn about the Crisis Center and how your job contributes to our mission.
  • Follow policies and procedures, working conscientiously and responsibly.
  • Give regular and reliable commitments of time and be sure to inform the staff supervisor of any changes.

Time Requirements for Volunteers
Time commitments vary. At the Crisis Center Thrift Store, a minimum of four hours a week is required. You may choose to spend an hour providing childcare at the Crisis Center, staff the hotline on a weekend, help a woman get settled in her new home, join our Skills Bank and demonstrate a special skill or talent as needed, or help in the shelter office.
